All client websites are located on servers in Chicago’s Lakeside Technology Center (left), located in the former R.R. Donnelley Headquarters and Printing Plant which was originally constructed in the 1920’s. Since then, the building has been re-developed into the Midwest’s largest telecommunications facility, dedicated to serving co-location and carrier neutral telecommunication equipment.

Located in the South Loop of the Chicago Central Business District, the property has over 1,000,000 square feet of rentable space and boasts significant electrical and HVAC infrastructure, as well as robust telecom access critical to enterprise datacenter tenants. The redundant all Cisco network and central location minimizes latency and eliminates potential risks associated with long distance fiber transit. Connectivity is provided by Mzima’s backbone, with over 100 Gbps of transit and peering capacity.

The facility uses a 24/7/365 roaming security patrol, strict sign-in protocols and camera systems throughout data center to maintain security. It also provides for power failure with 2 MW diesel generators on-site for power following a blackout. A dual-interlock pre-action sprinkler system is used throughout the facility in order to maximize the protection of servers from water damage in the event of a fire.

While the technical capabilities of the factility speak for themselves, it is always nice to see where your website is located. For this reason, we decided to ensure that all images on the site were taken within the datacenter rather than using stock photography as many other hosts do.
